Deferred Dynamo is a Standard Lightning Arcana in Wizard of Legend

Description[]

Element: Lightning Type: Standard/Signature Subtypes: Projectile

The arcana passively builds charges up to a maximum of 2. Each cast uses 1 charge, causing you to throw a small electric orb in the direction you are aiming. If the orb hits an enemy it deals 10 damage and knocks them back, then after a short delay the orb fires out a lightning stream at the enemy which deals 5 hits of 4 damage and pushes them back.

If enhanced, the lightning stream now deals 6 hits of 5 damage and pulls enemies into the orb.

Charged Signature: Fire out a wide spread of 9 orbs which each deal 10 damage on impact and pull the enemy in with a stream that deals 20 hits of 5 damage over a longer duration. Each enemy can only be hit by one orb.

Strategies[]

Deferred Dynamo is a great arcana to initiate a combo with as the orb will hitsun the enemy, opening them up for attack and the stream of lightning will deal continuous damage to them while you perform other arcana.

Due to the high knockback from both the orb and the stream, Deferred Dynamo can easily knock enemies into pits or hazards.

The stream lasts for a rather long duration. This allows you to single out particularly troublesome enemies and keep them hitstunned for several seconds, preventing them from attacking. You can either follow up on the enemy to ensure that they are taken out or you can use this time to deal with enemies without the threat of the other attacking you.

Lining up enemies can cause the stream to hit multiple targets.

The enhanced version is a good means of keeping an enemy hitsunned in place since it will keep enemies near the orb instead of pushing them away like the unenhanced version. This makes it more effective at opening up enemies or setting them up for a follow-up but to compensate for this it cannot be used to keep enemies away of push them into pits.

The Charged Signature is excellent at locking down an entire room of enemies for a long time due to its wide coverage and many hits. Unlike other projectile spread signatures (Gust Volley Gust Volley, Frost Fan Frost Fan and Mark of Discord Mark of Discord) it cannot be "shotgunned" at close range of a single target to deal high damage since only one orb can hit an enemy at a time, causing it to deal lacklustre single target damage (~110) for a Charged Signature.
