Gravity Onslaught is a Standard Chaos Arcana in Wizard of Legend
Description[]
This arcana passively builds charges up to a maximum of 2. Each cast uses 1 charge.
Using the arcana causes you to lunge forward in the direction you are aiming, covering yourself in energy in the process. During the lunge, all enemies you make contact with are hit and are affected by graviton energy, causing them to bounce around while taking damage over time. This damage hit stuns enemies, similar to the shock status.
While lunging, any enemy projectiles you make contact with are also destroyed, protecting you from damage.
Charged Signature: The forward lunge is accompanied by 4 Chaotic Echoes of yourself which each one lunging in a slightly different direction. The echoes then lunge 2 more times, moving backwards and then forwards again.
Strategies[]
Gravity Onslaught is a strong start to almost any battle, letting you quickly close in on distant enemies to follow up with other close range arcana while also removing projectiles in your way, disrupting further enemy attacks and preventing retaliation from any enemy not immune to hit stun.
The multiple charges allows an immediate followup lunge, letting you close in on enemies beyond the range of a single lunge, or it can be used against enemies that you didn't hit the first time. Alternatively, the second lunge can be used when the graviton energy from the first lunge is about to end, prolonging the duration that enemies are stunned.
When casting as Signature, it allows you to hit a wide group of enemies in front of you instead of a single line, affecting all of them with graviton energy. Besides the room clearing applications, the graviton energy will also continue to stun enemies that survive the attack, letting you easily finish them off with other arcana.
Spell combos[]
- Quantum Edge go with full charge Gravity Onslaught can deal around 450 - 550 damage.
Item combos[]
Additional notes[]
- It appears that the rapid damage and bouncing applied to enemies is a unique status effect, since the hits of damage cannot crit and do not give signature charge. Testing with Hunter's Stiletto confirms this, as the damage increase visual is displayed when dealing damage to enemies that have Gravity Onslaught's effect applied to them.
