Contingent99 launched a Kickstarter project for Wizard of Legend on June 21, 2016. A month later, the project ended, having reached $72,681 of their $50,000 goal from over 3000 backers.
The closed beta for Kickstarter backers began on March 25, 2017.
On November 29, 2017, it was announced that Contingent99 teamed up with Humble Bundle to bring Wizard of Legend to the Nintendo Switch, PS4, and Xbox One in addition to PC.
